Do You Know What Are the Components of Physical Fitness?

The question “what are the components of physical fitness?” is important for any serious gym participant. It will help guide you to select appropriate equipment and workout routine. But how do you know what are the components of physical fitness?

what are the components of physical fitness

Aerobic activity is anaerobic capacity. When we say aerobic activity, it means complete physical movement using the muscles of the lungs, heart, and lunges. Examples of physical activity that meets the criteria of aerobic activity are walking, running, stair climbing, bicycling, skating, swimming, and playing sports like basketball, football, tennis, and others. Aerobics can be very effective in improving your muscle strength, balancing your heart rate, increasing your metabolism, reducing blood pressure, and many other health benefits.

When you do aerobic exercises, you increase your oxygen and energy level in your body. You burn more calories than you normally do, while at the same time, your body expends less energy. In general, an hour of moderate aerobic exercise three to five times a week is enough to keep your weight at normal levels, improve your muscle tone, and get your blood flowing properly. As long as you don’t overdo it, you should be able to achieve all these benefits without straining your joints or muscles.

Anaerobic exercise, on the other hand, is a total body workout. It requires the force of the lungs against the force of the legs. This kind of exercise is ideal to tone your muscles and build endurance. Since anaerobic exercises use up a lot of oxygen and energy, they should be performed for a short period of time (as little as ten minutes) to be maximized results.

Finally, flexibility training is the last component. It improves the motor control, co-ordination, and overall performance of the body. Flexibility exercises increase the range of motion of the joints and the flexibility of the muscles. As you get older, you will notice that your joints become stiff and inflexible, but with regular exercising, they can be improved to their previous state.

So, now that you know what the components of physical fitness are, what are the things you need to do to get fit? First off, stop thinking in terms of division and classification. The truth is, everyone’s different and what works for one person might not be applicable to another. If you want to reach your fitness goals, then think about what you can do on your own, and the things you can do with a combination of the three main components.
